Howard Thomas, a 1969 graduate of Wayland High School and son of former Wayland Supt. James Thomas, has died of cardiac arrest.

Thomas, who lived in Grand Rapids and was a machine operator at Reed & Hoppes, was well known in West Michigan as a crew chief at Berlin Raceway.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the United Church of Wayland will memorial service at 11 a.m. A noon luncheon and fellowship will follow.
