He certainly looks like a dishwasher here, but longtime Moline and Leighton Township resident Tom Miller actually is spending part of his retirement managing his daughter Tammy’s restaurant, the Auction House Cafe. He was pressed into service a couple of weeks ago when Tammy’s fiance and co-owner left for Benton Harbor. Tom Miller’s other three daughters are involved at the eatery in one way or another. The Auction House Cafe has been in business since 1936. The customary hours of 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. have been reinstated, except for auction days, Tuesdays, when it is open until 9 p.m. It still serves breakfast all day.
