K of C ‘Tootsie Roll’ drive to be held March 22, 23 and 24

The families of the Shower of Roses Knights of Columbus Council in Hilliards will be participating in the 49th annual Tootsie Roll Drive to raise money for the mentally impaired.

The K of C families will be present next weekend, March 22, 23 and 24, will be present at Hardings Market in Wayland Leppink’s Market in Dorr, the Bradley four corners (10th Street & 129th Avenue) and outside of St. Therese after the 10:30 a.m. mass.

Each donor is offered a Tootsie Roll when donating. Because of these little gifts of appreciation, the “Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities” has frequently referred to as the “Tootsie Roll Drive” a popular and successful fund-raiser conducted by Knights of Columbus councils. One hundred percent of the money raised goes to help adults and children with cognitive impairments.

Since 2016, the local council has raised more than $30,000 for various programs & charities that assist the mentally impaired throughout Allegan County and the State of Michigan.
