Perhaps in a throwback to bygone days of home economics classes, the Wayland Community Ed Kids Cooking class students chopped veggies for salad and made bubble-up pizza. They voted on baking brownies and making brownie sundaes for dessert for next week’s class.Instructor for the class is elementary teacher Kristi Zondervan.

Army Bob: Gender and race labels too often divide us
Dropping Home Ec. classes in school was a huge mistake. And now we wonder why many women of today don’t know how to cook and would rather eat out instead. I’m glad to see they are including both boys and girls. Just saying.
