kim-miller-powersKim Miller Powers, a 1987 graduate of Wayland High School and former standout Wildcat athlete, has taken over ownership of the Auction House Cafe, just north of the Wayland city limits on old U.S.-131.

She and her husband, Kevin, will run the local eatery, which has been in business since 1936, succeeding her sister, Tammy Miller Thomas, who has been at the helm for more than two years.

“Our whole family has been involved in running it,” she said, noting her father, 1966 WHS grad Tom Miller, has often worked in the restaurant. “I will be working full time here while Kevin will still maintain his job at Hascall Steel. I have fallen in love with this little restaurant and I’m very excited about my new adventure.”

She promises pretty much the same fare and the business will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays.

Great little place to eat. Good food and people to chat with. I would recommend it!
