Dorr native Gordon Siefert, age 94, of Cedar Springs, died Monday, Feb. 28, at home under the care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice.

The son of Herbert and Vera (Wood) Siefert, he was born on July 20, 1927, in Dorr. On July 1, 1950, he married Joyce Pauline DeMann. Together, they enjoyed nearly 72 years of marriage and raised five children.

Allen was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He was a quiet man, mighty in faith, strong, patient, kind, full of empathy and humility. Allen was a man who served others and was deeply devoted to God, his wife, and then family.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Siefert; their children; Michael (Lawyer), Gary (Pastor), Cheryl (Teacher), Diane (Doctor), and Mary (Nurse); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred, Don, and Albert; and his sister, Marion.
