The Lady Clippers turned in yet another solid defensive performance and in so doing lifted their overall season record to 6-10.

Martin held the Comets scoreless in the first period and never looked back.

“Tonight was a great team win,” coach Ben Schipper said. “We played with only six varsity players due to sickness dn injury and suited up a JV player using the five quarter rule and every single player made positive contributions. Our defense was elite tonight holding Coloma scoreless in two quarters holding them to 10 points total.

“Offensively, we couldn’t buy a bucket most of the game but our effort on the offensive glass led to 30 offensive rebounds giving us plenty of chances to finally put the ball in the hoop. Our guards were aggressive all night, creating open looks for themselves and teammates.”

Every player on the team scored and there were some career firsts for three of the girls. Sophomore Anna Jager had her first double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Torryn Harris hit her first varsity three and freshman Aliyah DeGlopper scored her first varsity points in her first varsity game.

Avery Jager had 7 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks;Torryn Harris: 7 point, 9 rebounds, 3 steals; Kayden Jager 6 points, 4 assists, and Marybeth Ritchie: 11 rebounds.
