Avel T. Martinez, 42, was reported missing by his spouse Monday at their home in Leighton Township, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department.

His spouse stated that he had been depressed recently and Tuesday Avel’s vehicle was found abandoned near Riley and North Lakeshore Drive In Ottawa County. An extensive search of the area was conducted by deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Search and Rescue Teams, as well as area fire department personnel. 

At this time, it is believed Mr. Martinez left the residence voluntarily and foul play is not suspected. He is described as a Hispanic male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 185 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
