Local entertainer Harland ‘Frank’ Stanley passes at 68

Harlard “Fphoto_20150629_WM0042584_0_stanley_cropped_20150629rank” Stanley, 68, of Wayland, went to “Hillbilly Heaven” Monday, June 29.
Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He loved to make people laugh and entertained people for 50 years with the Black Velvet Band.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeannette; children, Connie and Stephen Pope, Korinia and Brad VanTil, Crystal Minix, Frankie and Kyle Wallace; ten grandchildren; sister, Barbara Johns; brother, Robert Stanley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Melvinnia (Jackson) Stanley; brothers and sisters, Elsie Locke, Harold Stanley, Alvin “Junior” Stanley, and Shirley Sisco.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
