Lois M. Norman, 83, of Hopkins, died Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Allegan County Medical Care Community in Allegan.
Lois was born on Jan. 5, 1932, the daughter of Peter and Jennie (Bos) Roon. She was a graduate of Hopkins High School, Class of 1950, and went on to graduate from the Butterworth School of Nursing.
Lois spent 30 years as a dedicated and caring nurse at Allegan General Hospital. She was devoted to her family and friends, along with her church family at Hopkins Community Reformed Church, where she was a lifetime member.
Surviving are her husband, Charles “Gene” Norman; 4 children, Pam and Bob Hennip, Annette and Bill Hennip, Dennis and Ruth Ann Norman, Phillip and Lucy Norman; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Alvira Kramer; two brothers, Bud and Bill; and a great-grandson, James Porter.
Friends may meet with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Hopkins Community Reformed Church, where the service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Dorr Cemetery in Dorr.
