Walter George Colter, age 62, died Saturday, May 4, at his home.
Walter was born on Feb. 22, 1957, in Grand Rapids to Clarence and Theresa (Scheidel) Colter. He worked hard at his job at Old Kent Bank where he was employed for more than 30 years.
Walter was a longtime resident of Barry County and could often be seen riding his bike around town. He loved listening to music and enjoyed being around animals. Walter especially loved the holidays and enjoyed the Christmas lights and dressing up as Santa.
Walter is survived by his son, Dan (Wendy) Colter; daughter, Jennifer (Andy) Myers; grandchildren, Quentin, Kaleb, Alexis, Leah, Desiray, Jayden; sister, LouAnn Mancha; brothers, Billy Colter, Jim Colter, Larry Colter, Steve Colter, Chuck Colter; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Tom Luyk; brother, Mike Colter. Friends and relatives may meet with the family on Wednesday, May 8, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Beeler Gores Funeral Home in Middleville, and again one hour prior to the funeral, which will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9. at the funeral home.
Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.
