Joseph Graczyk, age 72, died Thursday, Aug. 12.

Joe served his country in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He worked as a land surveyor for many years. He enjoyed hunting, horses, motorcycle riding, training hunting dogs, and target practice with his brother Carl.

He loved farming and helped on his parents’ farm all of his life. In retirement, he took over the farm raising beef cattle.

Joe served many years as treasurer of the Dorr Township Board.

He enjoyed farming with his buddy Don as they planted, harvested, fixed farm equipment, and took coffee breaks. He had many veteran and farming friends and was always up for coffee and chitchat with friends and family.

Joe had a big heart and enjoyed giving to anyone.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane Graczyk; his beloved daughter, Jenna; siblings Connie (Don) Kaczanowski, Carl (Robin) Graczyk, Jackie (Phil) Corwin, Greg (Vicki) Graczyk; sister-in-law, Lora Antor; brother-in-law, Rick Riede; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Anabelle Graczyk.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at St. Stanislaus Church, 1871 136th Ave., Dorr, with visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and a Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow mass at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There will be a luncheon afterward at St. Stanislaus.

In memory of Joe, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Michigan Veterans Assistance program of Wayland.
