Joshua Brewer, age 47, died Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Josh was a registered nurse for 26 years, serving in the emergency department where he was honored with the Emergency Care Specialist Customer Service of the Year award. Most recently, he served families with Faith Hospice.

Nothing made Josh happier than cooking for his family and friends. He loved playing cards, watching sports, and making his friends laugh. Most of all, Josh loved being Kenzie’s dad, and a grandpa to Elliott.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Mackenzie (Michael) Zachman; mother, Justine Brewer; siblings Jason (Katie) Brewer, Emily (George) Grix; granddaughter, Elliott Zachman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded by his father, Daniel Brewer.

Visitation with Josh’s family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Jones Cemetery, Dorr. Chaplain Galen Meyer will be officiating. Please bring your own chair to the graveside service; masks will be required while maintaining social distancing.

In honor of Josh, contributions may be made to Elliott Zachman’s college education.
