Longtime Watson Township farmer Clifford Willard Morris, 94, of Allegan, died Tuesday, Feb. 15.

He was born July 23, 1927 in Allegan to Clement and Beatrice (Butcher) Morris.

Cliff was a sergeant in the US Army and served in post-WWII Germany from 1946-1947. Besides farming in Watson for many years, he retired from Rockwell International after 30 years of service. He then went to work for Allegan County Fairgrounds, retiring again after 30-plus years.

In his younger years, he and wife Mary Lou enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and snowmobiling. He also looked forward to elk hunting in the mountains in Colorado for more than 20 years. He made walking sticks for many family members and friends in his later years.

Cliff and Mary Lou lived in their home in Watson for 69 years. The past year, Cliff was happy to just sit on his bench and look at the land.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mary Lou (Dolan) Morris; his daughter-in-law, Marcia (Tom) Morris; his daughters, Eileen (Jack) Pogodzinski, Margo (Arnie) Adamczyk; his grandchildren Matt (Kellie) Morris, Cullen (Caitlin) Morris, Philip (Cerian) Morris, Jack Jr (Lori) Pogodzinski, Casey (Nenza) Pogodzinski, Mandy (Derek) Meinecke, Ben (Angela) Pogodzinski, Jennifer (Brian) Belka, and Keith (Jamie) Adamczyk. He has 16 great grandchildren, Reagan, Maddie, Lincoln, Spencer, Gwen, Gabby, Abram, Drew, Kate, Jane, Otis, Maybel, Nick, Lauren, Leland and Luka.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Thomas and Timothy, his parents, his brothers, Clayton and James, and his sister Carrol Heltzel.

The family will receive friends at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2036 20th St., Allegan, from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25. A funeral mass will be at Sacred Heart at 11 a.m. Friday. A luncheon will follow in the church hall
