Edmond Haller, age 72, of Wayland, died Wednesday, Nov. 15.

A 1963 Wayland High School graduate, Ed was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, golf, bowl and tell jokes. He retired from Steelcase and went to work part-time for Cabela’s. He loved his job there because he was able to talk hunting and fishing all day.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Ed is survived by his wife, Susan Lynn Haller; two daughters Lisa Sue (Douglas) Fenn and Vanessa Rochelle (Jerry Jr.) Jansen; four grandchildren Jerry Lee Jansen III, Kyle James Jansen, Grace Ann Fenn, and Brian Declan Fenn; and brother, Stanley Haller.

In accordance with Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service and luncheon is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9,  at the Wayland VFW, 735 South Main St. in Wayland.

My condolences to his family and friends. Ed was a good friend to me and many others, quick with a smile and joke. He loved and served his country. Ed, you will be missed, my friend.
