A car-pedestrian crash in Salem Township Saturday night resulted in a death on 146th Avenue east of 27th Street.
Allegan County Sheriff’s Department personnel were summoned to the scene after learning a person had been struck by a pickup truck heading west on 146th, which left the scene. They said alcohol was believed to be a factor.
Authorities said the victim, David Vogt, 57, of Salem Township, had died at the scene before they arrived.
The road was closed while the sheriff’s department investigated, but it has since been reopened.
