
Both Martin and Hopkins varsity football teams Sunday evening learned who they will play in the opening round of the Michigan High School Athletic Association post-season playoffs next weekend.
Martin, 9-0 on the season, will have a rematch with Marcellus (6-3) Friday night on the Clippers’ field in a game that chased traditional Halloween trick or treating to the next day, Saturday, Nov. 1. Martin defeated Marcellus 44-14 inn the second game of the season Sept. 5.
Meanwhile, Hopkins (5-4) will open its playoff run Friday night at Kalamazoo United (7-2). The home team actually is the consolidation of Kalamazoo Christian and Kalamazoo Hackett schools.
