The Martin Schools’ Odyssey of the Mind team of eighth-grader Aubree Mosier, sixth-grader Austin Mosier, seventh-grader Jazzmin DelaCruz Santiz, seventh-grader Serenity Courtney and seventh-grader Charlie Sanford captured a second place finish at the OM middle school state finals Saturday, March 16. The accomplishment has qualified the local quintet to compete in the OM World Finals in Iowa in May. The team is coached by Reed Mosier.

Martin Supt. Samantha Ball added, “I also was just informed by Candace Laybourn (who is a middle school science teacher at Martin) that she also received an award at the state finals, called the Omer Award for outstanding volunteer. Just thought that was worth sharing, as her effort has been truly outstanding.”
