A family woke up from mid-afternoon naps to find a man in their house on Saturday.

The home, just north of the village limits on 10th street, was unlocked.

Authorities were called to the home and ultimately decided to let the man go free.

The homeowner, in a comment on Facebook, said the man was wearing a Michigan Jersey, a hat, and possibly shorts.

The man also wandered through a barn in the property and appeared to be drunk. The homeowner intends to press charges.

Residents are encouraged to lock their doors and be aware of their surroundings.
