Martin softball team quickly fashions 4-0 record

The Martin varsity softball team is off to a hot start this spring after doubleheader sweeps of Battle Creek Central and Benton Harbor.

The Martin. High School softball started with a bang Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Battle Creek Central. The Clippers prevailed 17-0 and 25-3.

Martin followed up Wednesday with 16-0 and 19-0 triumphs over Benton Harbor to start the campaign with a 4-0 record overall.  All three contests were halted after just three innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

Alley Bacon leads the team in home runs with two. Anna Jager already has six stolen bases. Sophomore pitcher Allison Rodgers has a spotless earned run average of 0.00.
