The Martin Township Board will have a public hearing on the 2025-26 fiscal year budget at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28.
The board afterward will adopt a budget that will begin to be in effect July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2026.
The board Wednesday evening also reminded everyone that its annual Trash Days pickup will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
In other business Wednesday, the board:
• Awarded the low bid of Stoney Point Tree Service for $800 for removal of a cedar tree from Old East Cemetery.
• Cleared up a misunderstanding with the fire department over the cost of a new truck. The original price had some down to as low as $531,000, but the department since has discovered some desirable features that push thje cost up to $614.850.
• Granted a request from, Angie Cameruci to borrow green chairs at the township hall for use at a local graduation party.
• Fielded a complaint from a local woman who said semi-trailers are putting on “Jake Brakes” too often amd disturbing the peace near 112th Avenue and 8th Street.
