Martin’s Brad Blauvelt named coach of the year by AP

Word has been received that Martin head varsity football coach Brad Blauvelt has been named coach of the year Michigan by the Associated press.
Blauvelt guided the Clippers to their first undefeated season at 13-0 and they earned their third state championship in the past four years with a final round 52-8 triumph over Blanchard Montabella last month. The Clippers switched to eight-man football about a decade ago. They have not had a losing season since and they’ve won three state titles in the last four years.
Blauvelt also was chosen coach of the year in eight-man football in 2023 by the Michigan Football Coaches Association after Martin won the first of its three state titles of late. The Clippers captured their first state crown in 1987.
