Doris Marie Zerfas, age 89 of Byron Center, died Sunday, June 29.
Doris was thought of as one of the sweetest people you have ever known!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Phillip Zerfas; son, David Zerfas; and brothers Delmer and August Junior Steffes. She is survived by her sons Paul (Rebecca) Zerfas and Andrew Zerfas; grandchildren Izzy and Will Zerfas; sister, Donna (Jerry) Schumaker; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at St. Mary’s Visitation Catholic Church, 2459 146th Ave., New Salem, with Msgr. Michael Hazard and Fr. Christopher Derda celebrants. A time to visit with family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 7,and Tuesday, July 8, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center. Rosary vigil service will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday evening.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Visitation Parish stain glass restoration fund.
