Kelly J. Smart, age 57 of Wayland, died peacefully at her home Sunday, July 13, following a courageous battle with lymphoma.
She was born Oct. 15, 1967, to James and Joan (Schaendorf) Miller.
Kelly worked for many years at Corium Innovations and at Yamaha. She was an angel amongst us, always thinking and taking care of others.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Smart Sr.; son, Jerry Smart Jr.; father, James Miller; siblings Kathy (Rob) Cornell, Kim (Mike) Kukulies, Kelvin Miller (Stacy), Kari Kelly, Kristy Mieras (Lee); in-laws Robert (Ellen) Smart, Don Smart, Carrie (Roy) Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Miller; mother-in-law, Angeline Smart; father-in-law and wife, Richard (June) Smart; nephews Dakota Mieras, Robert Smart Jr.; and best friend, Val (Manke) Davis.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services (Dorr Chapel), 4330 18th St., with prayers of the Rosary at 3 p.m. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 159 131st Ave., Wayland. Kelly will be laid to rest at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Dorr.
In memory of Kelly and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Neighbors Food Pantry in Wayland.
