Louise M. Wood, age 94, died Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Louise loved to start her day with a cup of tea and a favorite baked good, which she made from scratch. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching and quilting, sharing these talents with her family through her personalized homemade Christmas stockings. A seamstress by trade, her talents were also shared through making dresses and clothing for her family.
Louise also enjoyed the outdoors by fishing in her younger years, tending to her flower garden, and watching and feeding the birds. Faith and family were the two biggest passions of her life. She was a devoted attendee of St. Therese Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Wayne Kaboos; grandchildren Amy Hoover, Anita (Thomas) Dies, Barbara (Craig) Boersen, Anna (Ken) DenBesten, Chris (Julie) Kaboos, Daryl Kaboos, Jonathan (Eddie Royster) Kaboos, Dennis (Dayana) Kaboos, Deb (Scott) Veltman; great-grandchildren Daniel (Melissa) Hoover, Deborah Hoover, David Hoover, Rachel Dies (Rayes Campos), Stephanie Dies, Nathaniel Dies, Andrew Dies, Alyssa (Edwin) Chidanand, Sarah Boersen, Grace Boersen, Katelyn Boersen, Emily (Dylan) Brundage, Aaron DenBesten, Tyler DenBesten, Jolie DenBesten, Christopher (Elizabeth) Kaboos, Tomas Kaboos, Georgia Kaboos, Isaac Kaboos, Kathleen Kaboos, Angel Kaboos, Daliana Kaboos, Ashleigh (Jonathan) Tomlinson, Alex Veltman; great-great-grandchildren Olivia Hoover, Roman Campos, Royce Campos, Luca Campos, Iniya Chidanand, Kristopher Kaboos and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Wood; daughter, Louise Mae Kaboos; great-great-grandson, Elijah Kaboos; parents Irving and Louise Johnson; and all of her siblings
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 2, at St. Therese Catholic Church with visitation from 11 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Louise will be laid to rest at Hooker Cemetery in Leighton Township, Michigan.
In memory of Louise and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church.
