Geraldine “Gerie” Lee Fleser, 78,  died Saturday, Sept. 28,.

Gerie was born Oct. 28, 1940, in North Dorr. She touched many lives whether it was watching several children who called her “Auntie” or cooking for her family or anyone else who came over. She made everyone feel wanted and loved. Her homemade knitted dish cloths are in many kitchens.

She was a long time parishioner at St. Therese Church where she served as a eucharistic minister and was on the Christian Service Committee.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Daryl Fleser, children Mary (Craig) Osborn, Tim Fleser, Barb Fleser, special sons Rich Krulac and Kevin Maynard; grandchildren, Jessica (Chris), Megan (Norm), Blain, Evan, Jake, Steven, Hunter and Joe; step-grandchildren, Tom (Alena), Chelsea (Jeff); great-grandchildren, Holly, Maddie and Coleston, step-great grandchildren, Owen and Ayla. Sister Marilyn Swiontek; brothers-in-law, Bob Weick and Bud DeVries and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Geneva Schumaker, her father and mother-in-law Milton and June Fleser. Brother Jim (Ann) Schumaker, sisters Theresa (Bob) Merren-DeVries and Ruth Weick, brothers-in-law, Joseph Koperski and Chester Swiontek.

Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th St, Dorr. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 2, with an hour of visitation prior at St. Therese Catholic Church, 128 Cedar St, Wayland.Father Chuck Fischer will be officiating.

Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, Faith Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
