Donald E. Striegle died Friday, Oct. 21, at the age of 78.
Don was born on July 8, 1938, in Grand Rapids. Don married his sweetheart, Marybeth, in 1960, and they had 56 years together. Don worked on the railroad and was a member of the Allegan County Mounted Division. His biggest passion was working on the farm and horseback riding. Don served in the U.S. Navy for four years.
He is survived by his beloved wife Marybeth Striegle; children: Scott Striegle, Brian and Lisa Striegle, and Steven and Elizabeth Striegle; grandchildren: Bree Striegle and Chase Striegle; Siblings: Kathleen Cornett and Tom and Jan Striegle.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sylvester “Jack” Striegle and Lucille (Striegle) Falch, stepfather Rudy Falch, sister Jackie Humes, and infant son David Striegle.
Friends may visit with Don’s family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Dorr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery with military honors.
