Jacob Vincent Koperski died at home unexpectedly Sunday, May 8, with his family at his side. He was 26.
Jake attended school since he was a year old and for 25 years enjoyed every day in the classroom. He would have graduated June 9 from the Young Adult Program in Otsego. Jake loved Mass and believed in the promise of Easter. He prayed every night for family and friends.
Jake touched countless lives: grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, St. Stan’s parishioners, Project Hope volunteers, Special Friends group, Saturday bowlers, Yes I Can T-ball athletes, fellow campers, fishermen and so many others.
Jake’s belly laugh was contagious and almost as unforgettable as his singing.
Survivors include his parents, Vince and Colleen; siblings, Ben and Katie; and grandparents, Dick and Delores Koperski.
The family will receive family and friends at the Cook Funeral Chapel, 4330 18th St., Dorr, on from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 12, with a Rosary offered at 8 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, with visitation one hour prior, at St. Stanislaus Church, 1871 136th Ave., Dorr, with Rev. Father Harold Potter officiating. A procession to St. Stanislaus Cemetery will follow.
Memorial contributions can be made to Project Hope food pantry or St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.Ser
