Mary Hitzler, age 78, died Friday, Aug. 31,.

Mary was a social butterfly; she had a beautiful smile. Mary enjoyed traveling all over the world with her family. Mary’s favorite was her timeshare in Fort Myers Beach and sharing it with her family and friends.

She always welcomed people into her family and loved to spoil them. Her gift-giving was above and beyond, especially when it came to her grandchildren.

Mary volunteered at the Moose Lodge and treasured that time with her Moose family.

She is survived by her children Jim (Tracy) Hitzler, and Jack (Mary) Hitzler; grandchildren Lane, Luke, Zander, Cruz, Kennedy; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack Birman, Edith and Herbert Hitzler; and siblings Jim Birman Sr., Catherine VanWinkle.

Visitation with Mary’s family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, with Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m., at Kubiak Cook Funeral Home – Dorr Chapel, 4330 18th. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1861 136th Ave., Dorr.

In honor of Mary, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church
