Steve Kuhtic, age 84 of 5620815_300x300Wayland, died Saturday, Dec. 19, at Rose Arbor Hospice. He was born Dec. 24, 1930, to Ivan and Barbara (Petrich) Kuhtic in Wayland.
Steve graduated from Wayland High School and Ferris State University. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict. Steve was the former owner of A-1 Refrigeration, where he worked from 1956 until he retired in 2001. Steve was dedicated and proud of his work but nothing brought him more joy than the time he spent with his family. He was a man of deep faith and belonged to SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
Steve is survived by his son Steve (Fran) Kuhtic and his daughter Shari (Kevin) Bates; his grandchildren: Jessica, Kalani (Tom), Gabriela, Nicholas, Alisha, Collin, Samantha, and Kristen; his sister Mary Nausieda; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie Kuhtic, and his son, Bryan Kuhtic.
Friends may visit with his family from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Wayland, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Wayland, with Father Christian Johnston presiding. Interment will follow at SS Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
