Marian Lombardo, 78, of Dphoto_20160916_wm0077069_0_20160916orr, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, Sept. 16.
Born Oct. 2, 1937 ,in Alaska, Mich., she is predeceased by her parents, Norman J. and Mildred M. Swainston; her sisters, Margaret (Bill) Stauffer, Lillian (Ronald) Paffhausen, Dorothy (Claude)Colburn; and her brothers, Harold Swainston and Norman Swainston.
Marian was a homemaker living in Wyoming, Mich., and joined with her husband, Joseph, in the ownership and operation of Joe’s Pizza King, in 1975. Together with her husband and four children, she worked to create a successful family business.
She loved her garden flowers and farm cats, listening to music, baking homemade pies and going on cruises with her husband, friends and family. She traveled to Florida every winter and enjoyed the fellowship of her Piney Point friends.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; and her four children; James (Patricia Owen) Lombardo, Gigi (John) Weaver, Wanda (Frank) Vitale and John (Catherine) Lombardo; 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be held  at 11 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 20, at Our Lady of Sorrow 101 Hall St. SE, Grand Rapids. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stegenga Funeral Chapel 3131 S. Division Ave. and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. The prayer of the Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
