James Carl Edema Jr., age 60, of Dorr died Saturday, Dec. 16.

Jimi loved pulling his Farmall’s at tractor pulls and winning. He loved to swim, sit in the sun, and work outside. He enjoyed spending time with family and was just a phone call away to lend a helping hand.

Jimi was a big kid at heart, playing soccer with Payton in the yard, cheering on his girls in all of their sports or picking you up by your head. He was a diehard Lions fan.

He is survived by his children Katelynn Edema, Kendralyn (Trent) Vela, Karolyne Edema, Brandon (Anna) Miller, Lane (Emily) Carpenter; grandchildren Payton Barth, Buckley and Oaklynn Vela; siblings Brenda Westrate, Gwendolyn (Kent) Rahrig, Wandalee Homrich; in-laws Denise (Cam) Chalmers, Dale (Mary) Deverman Jr., Kevin Deverman, Tamara (Ken) Waayenberg, Tyson (Nikki) Deverman, Heath (Jessica) Deverman, Marcie (Dylan) Stark; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; parents James Carl Sr. and Karen Edema; in-laws Dale Sr. and Mary Deverman.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m., at St. Mary’s Visitation, 2459 146th Ave., Byron Center. A livestream will be available: https://facebook.com/SMV150/live

In honor of Jimi and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Edema family for funeral expenses.
