Thomas E. Pavlak, age 74, of Hopkins died Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Born on March 19, 1941, to Emil and Julia (Arbanas) Pavlak in Allegan, he married high school sweetheart Janet Miller Aug. 24, 1963.
Tom, a 1959 graduate of Hopkins High School, loved farming and seeing God’s hand in nature, especially the smell of freshly plowed fields and newly cut hay. He always had a dog at his side and his most recent sidekick, TJ, will miss him greatly.
He survived by his mother Julia, wife Janet, children Jill Krcatovich, Jennifer (Kelly) Brower, Jon (Tamie) Pavlak, Mindy (Matt) Krcatovich, Molly (Mike) Schlatter, Megan Roxbury, Jason (Samreet) Pavlak and Beth (Barb Jackson) Pavlak, 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings Janet Robyler, Bill (Laura) Pavlak, Teri (Tim) Dimock, Mike (C.Lee) Pavlak, Scott (Chris) Pavlak, in-laws Sue (Mike) Fein, Jim Miller, Dan (Sandy) Miller, Bob (Ann) Miller, Bruce (Sheryl Noel-Miller) Miller along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tom was preceded in death by his father in 1977, sisters Patricia Wellington Davis and Juliann Brenner, brothers Dennis and Randy Pavlak, in-laws Arlen Brenner, Leon Robyler, Keith Wellington, Marge Pavlak and Joan Miller and mother and father-in-law Orvil and Dorothy Miller.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at the Kubiak-Cook Dorr Chapel. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. Private interment will take place at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
