
Robert Lyle Earl, 86, died at his home Monday, Aug. 15.
He was born on March 29, 1939, in Plainwell, to Lyle and Lillian (Weber) Earl. Bob spent his youth in Martin and graduated from Martin Rural Agricultural School in 1958.
After attending Western Michigan University, Bob embarked on a three decade career with Rockwell International. His friendly, outgoing personality served him well during his career in corporate sales.
On Oct. 6, 1967, Bob married Judith Isenhart. His career took Bob, Judy and family back and forth across the country with stops in California, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. Upon retirement, Bob and Judy moved to Florida, where he worked part-time as a boat captain at Disney World.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed golfing with friends and spending time with family (in particular his grandson, JJ).
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; his sons, Robert and James; his daughter-in-law, Mi-Lim Chun; and his grandson, James (JJ). He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (William) Miller and Nancy (Richard) Priest; his sister-in-law, Brigitte (William) Earl; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Betty (Mike) Bellgraph; and his brother, William (Brigette) Earl.
A memorial mass will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (2036 20th St., Hopkins. Bob then. will be laid to rest in the church cemetery
