Lavina R. Dunlap died Monday, Feb. 27, at the Allegan Medical Facility. She was two days shy of her 87th birthday.

She was born March 1, 1936, the daughter of Peter and Martha Graczyk, in Allegan. She lived in the Allegan area, including Dorr, for most of her life.

Lavina spent her time raising and taking care of all her kids and grandkids. When she had free time, she spent it cooking dinners for the local gun clubs. She also was an auxiliary member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Allegan and enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, skeet shooting and hunting, but it was spending time with her family that meant the most to her.

She is survived by her kids, Marylin (Glen) Rice of Plainwell, David (Annette) Selby of Plainwell, her grandkids, Kevin Rice of Tennessee, and David Selby Jr. of Otsego, a sister, Susie Burchardt, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Teddy Selby, and her grandson, Benjamin Selby, her siblings, Donald Graczyk, John Gracyzk, Leona Lenhart, Agnes Gracyzk and Florence Swiderski.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
