The funeral for Linda Dykstra, wife of Wayland City Planning Commissioner Sam Dykstra, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at Wayland Christian Reformed Church.

Friends may call at the church that Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Dykstra, 77, died Wednesday, May 13, as a result of an automobile accident in Indiana.

Linda was born on July 13, 1937, in Flint to the late Howard D. and Evelyn L. (Ames) Rice. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1955. Linda married Darrell H. Golden Sr. Sept. 14, 1957. He preceded her in death May 10, 2005. She married Samuel Dykstra on Oct. 2, 2010.

Linda was employed with Dupont for more than 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was also a church secretary for 30 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, crossword puzzles and the Lord.

Surviving are husband Samuel Dykstra of Wayland; son, Darrell G. (Cindy) Golden of Clio; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings: Evelyn L. (Ames) Rice, Howard D. Rice, Donald D. Rice, Dwight Howard Rice, Laurene Ann Miller and Mary Jane Shelley; son in law, Rev. Mitchell W. Burch.
