Lillian Lenora (Grosphoto_20160820_WM0075089_0_20160820e) Van Zee died July 25 at the age of 83 in her home in Fort Myers, Fla.
There will be a memorial service in her honor at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Salvation Army Fulton Heights Corps, 1215 Fulton, NE, Grand Rapids.
She was born, Jan. 15, 1933 in Comstock Park, to Lee and Anna Grose, the eighth of 10 children. She married Melbourne Gene Van Zee on May 19, 1953. They lived in Grand Rapids and Wayland for many years, before retiring to Florida. Summers were spent at the cottage on Cobb Lake.
She loved bowling, fishing, quilting, cruising, and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended the Salvation Army Corps in Fort Myers, Fla.
She is survived by husband of 63 years, Melbourne Van Zee, of Fort Myers, Florida; children: Robin (Paul) Nyenhuis, of Wayland, Kathy (Bill) Hogg, of Decatur, Ill.; and Kevin (Christie) Van Zee, of Battle Creek; eight grandchildren; Sara, Katie, Tim, Kristy, John, Adam, David, and Kelli; five great grandchildren; Faith, Lily, Caleb, Hannah, and Luke; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters.
