Bernard Leon Schwartz, 66, of Hopkins, died Monday, Jan. 8.

Born May 13, 1951, in Allegan, he was the son of the late George and Evelyn (Baweja) Schwartz and was the husband of Kathleen (Baier) Schwartz. He was a longtime resident of Hopkins and had worked for Spartan Stores as a Hi-Lo operator for many years. In his spare time, he loved fishing and hunting.

Besides his wife of 46 years, Mr. Schwartz is survived by his children, Ryan (Sarah) Schwartz, Karen (Rich) Dame and Nick (Emily) Schwartz; his unofficial adopted daughter, Selina Kiss; siblings, George (Colleen) Schwartz, Denise Pluta, Mark (Laurie) Schwartz and Mike (Sandy) Schwartz; brother-in-law, Craig (Toni) Baier; and grandchildren, Ethan, Olivia, Noah, Ella, Luke, Madison and Landri.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11,  A memorial service will take place on Friday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to Wings of Hope Hospice or Wings Home.
