
Anne Lee Bonczyk, age 84, of Dorr, died peacefully Thursday, Dec 11.
Born on July 23, 1941, in Ludington, to Alex and Jane (Love) Yonkovit, Anne was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings: Tom Yonkovit (Mary), Jeanette Yonkovit, Peter Yonkovit (Patti), and Kathy Vanderweg.
Anne moved to Grand Rapids as a young girl and attended Catholic Central High School, where she met Michael Bonczyk, the man who would change her life. They married shortly after graduation and celebrated 65 years of marriage this year.
Anne loved many things, but she loved her husband most of all. He was her constant companion, travel partner, sounding board and favorite person to be with. Their marriage was loyal and long; both deeply devoted to each other.
Anne enjoyed traveling, especially to the American West where she loved visiting national parks and historic sites. She also enjoyed gardening, baking and especially taking care of her family. She had a successful working life as a Spartan corporate employee and entrepreneur but made sure that her family always came first.
Anne and Michael raised three children: Michele Anderson (Jeremy), Lisa Bonczyk, and Michael Bonczyk (Dana Darr). They were also blessed with six grandchildren: Elia Zanella, Zoe Zanella, Caroline Bonczyk, Margaret Bonczyk, Grace Bonczyk-Smith and Dax Ritter.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26,at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
