Arthur Gigowski, age 86, of Dorr, died Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Arthur worked for Spartan stores for 28 years as a hi-lo driver, though one of his true passions was as a “part-time farmer” at his home in Dorr. He was also the last surviving member of the Grand Rapids Ole Tyme Concertina Club.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn Gigowski; his children Ted Gigowski, Cindy Gigowski, Shelley (Ed) Burch; grandchildren Jade Burch, Kole Burch, Hailey (Alex) ten Haaf, Braden Northrop; special friends Steve and Cindy Allen; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Agnes Gigowski; brother, Steve Gigowski; and his half-siblings Stella Zaremba, Andrew Kozlowski, Walter Kozlowicz.

Per Arthur’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be announced at a later date.

In memory of Arthur and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus – Building Fund or Faith Hospice – Trillium Woods.
