Martin “Marty” Lee VanderMolen, 64, died Friday, Dec. 1, at home.

He deeply loved and cherished his family and enjoyed spending each moment with them. Marty was also a jokester and always had a smile on his face and loved making people laugh. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need and be a friend to all.\

Later in life, he worked at the Cascade Costco and considered them his “Costco family.” He cherished his faith in Jesus Christ and lived this out in his day-to-day.

Martin is survived by his wife, Kimberly VanderMolen; his daughter, Pamela (David) Willison; step-children Branden (Jennifer) Wheelock, Megan Wheelock, Nathan Wheelock, Anthony VanderMolen, Treson VanderMolen, Elijah VanderMolen, Brielle VanderMolen, Aleigha VanderMolen; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Steve (Donna) VanderMolen, Tom (Barb) VanderMolen, Lori Schipper; many extended family and friends.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jean VanderMolen, and step-daughter, Kristin Pablo.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 at Kubiak-Cook (Wayland Chapel), 312 N. Main St. A memorial service celebrating Marty’s life will be held at at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Byron Center Bible Church, 8855 Byron Center Ave., with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
