Harvey Hoke, 76, died of cancer at his home on Cobb Lake Wednesday.

Hoke was born in Grand Rapids on March 15, 1939, to Lois (Murray) and Earl Hoke
He is survived by his loving companion of 23 years Joan Kammeraad of Kalamazoo; his sons John Hoke of Dayton, Ohio and Robert Hoke (Jeff Hostetler) of Indianapolis; stepmother Ethel Hoke of Byron Center; brother Frank (Frieda) Hoke of Irons; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Frens) Hoke, and his mother and father.
Harvey was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea between 1956 and 1959. Harvey worked for Valley City Plating Company for 43 years, retiring in 2002.
Hoke was a member of the United Church of Wayland.
