Leon “Bub” Flannery died Tuesday, Nov. 20, on his way to his Florida winter home. He was 80.

He was born on April 14, 1938, the youngest of seven children to James and Lala Flannery in Byron Center.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Flannery and his children Dennis (Dawn), Pamela Delnay (Dennis Farrell) and Robert (Kristy); grandchildren Dayna (Brent) Holmes, Lindsay (Ken Overway), Flannery, Jason Flannery, Caleb Delnay, Ryan (Jenna) Flannery, Sean Flannery, Kayleigh Flannery; five great-grandsons; brother, Lynn Flannery and Bub’s best friend, Peter Gill.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St., with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Father Chuck Fischer will officiate.
