Jessica Powers of Martin, daughter, fiancé, mother, stepmother, sister, and friend, died Monday July 21, after a courageous battle with heart failure and complications from multiple surgeries. She was 43.
Born Nov. 8, 1982, in Grand Rapids, Jessica lived a life full of strength, love, and unwavering resilience.She was well known in her community, working for many years at both Subway and Martin Gas Station, where she formed lasting friendships and left a mark on everyone she met. Whether she was serving customers or lending a hand to someone in need, Jessica did it with a smile, a sharp sense of humor, and a heart full of care. Even after her health forced her to step away, her warmth and loyalty remained felt by those who knew her.
Jessica is survived by her fiancé, Matt Smith; her children Bryson, Justin and Madison; her stepchildren Abbie, Zoey, and Liz; father Rodney and stepmom Jenine and brother Jason Powers and sister in law Amber and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Powers.
A memorial service will be held on a later date.
