Norma Jean Tanis, age 69, of Dorr, died Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Norma loved spending time with her family, and her grandchildren brought her great joy. She always looked forward to her monthly luncheons with her brothers and sisters. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and getting together with their Florida forever young group.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Randy; daughter, Amber (Jacob) Whitman; grandchildren, Jack, Katelyn, Luke; brothers and sisters, Valerie (Ron) Potter, Cindy (Doug) Gillette, Beverly (Mark) Brame, Terry (Nancy) Bouwens, Brian (Jules) Bouwens; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby, and Timothy Bouwens; parents, Robert and Margaret Bouwens.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Woodward Baptist Church. The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Woodward Baptist Church, 2160 76th St. SW, Byron Center, with Pastor Lance Laker officiating.
