Kenneth “Ken” DeHamer, age 91, died at his home in Wayland Saturday, Dec. 16.

Ken enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and being with his family. He served his country in the United States Army. While stationed in Korea, he drove and operated a radio Jeep.

Ken was a proud father and grandfather and had a heart of love and gold for his family.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Delores DeHamer; children Brent (Beth) DeHamer, Tami (Kirk) Victory, Terri (Kevin) Fortmeyer, Jennifer Meyer, Ed Brooks; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended friends and family.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Betty DeHamer; sisters Penny Van Gelderen, Mary DeGraaf, Betty Hopkins and Lois Delnay.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023 at Calvary Church of Wayland, 304 S. Main St., with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

In memory of Ken and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayland Christian Neighbors Food Pantry.
