Carl D. Howland, age 82 died March 21.

He was born June 3, 1934, in Grand Rapids, the son of William and Margaret Howland. Carl served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dawn; Kevin (Brenda) Howland, Bill (Layna) Howland, Lucinda Mitchell, Douglas (Angie) Howland and Brandon Howland; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother Donald (Sue) Howland along with nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Robert Howland and Lynda Ferris.

A memorial visitation for Carl’s family and friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 26,  at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, Wayland Chapel, 312 N. Main St.

A private family interment for Carl will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
