Jeff Poelstra has been hired as the new counselor at Wayland Middle School, beginning this month.

Previously a counselor at Kenowa Hills High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, where he majored in special education, emotionally impaired, and social studies. He received his master’s degree in counseling from WMU.

Poelstra said, “I am exited to be a part of a wonderful community that has welcomed me with such warmth and value. I am excited about the direction that Wayland Union is heading in terms of student support, student achievement and so much more.”
