A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Portage suffered life threatening injuries Saturday evening in crash near Martin near Marsh Road in Orangeville Township.

Authorities said the motorcyclist was traveling east, lost control and went off the roadway, striking a tree. They said he was  not responsive when first responders arrived and CPR was performed. He was taken by helicopter to a local hospital.

Deputies from the Barry County Sheriff’s office said the driver was not wearing a helmet and alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
