This onion, bella mushroom, and provolone burger has layers of flavor that your family is sure to enjoy. You’ll find that Bella’s are great to pair up with onions and can use this mixture to top other meals. Really tasty on steak, salmon and meatloaf, too.

1 1/2 pounds extra lean ground beef.

1 large firm sweet onion cleaned and sliced.

1/2 to 1 teaspoon of your favorite seasoning, I used The chefs “Char Broil It” made in Michigan and really enjoyed the flavor.

1 pound of baby Bella mushrooms cleaned and sliced.

1/4 cup Olive oil or butter.

Sliced provolone cheese.

Buns.

All there is to do with this recipe is to take your ground beef and divide into four pieces, fry your hamburger patties up in a larger pan and place on a platter to let rest. Remove the hamburger grease from pan and add the butter-oil melting to cover the bottom of the pan.

Add your sliced mushrooms and onions, sprinkling with the seasoning. Stir fry until they’re done to your liking. I like to start the mushrooms out first with stir frying for a couple of minutes, than adding the onion as we prefer the onions not cooked to mush. Your choice!

When you’re ready, make wells in the mushroom and onions placing patties back into the wells to reheat. Place cheese slices on top of the patties cover and let that cheese melt to serve on buns topped with all the goodness from the caramelized onions and mushrooms. Enjoy!
